One NB Mage boards the Shiip on a flying tiger, stops time for a minute (If Khadgar can do it, a Nightborne can do it better), attunes the Vindishiip to a Telemancy Bacon and suddenly the entire population of Silvermoon boards the Shiip lol
Finally, the Vindishiip has shown that it needs proximity to strike. That's why you need it to be in Antoran Wastes to open the Antorus entrance. If it could be done from afar, you could shoot from Mac'Aree, which would be a lot safer.
